High School Movies

How many of you thought high school was going to be just like Mean Girls, Clueless, or The Duff? I bet more than half of you. But was/is high school like that. I know that the minute I stepped into high school I thought the seniors where going to be mean to us and that all these popular pretty girls where going to judge me. I was wrong. The minute I stepped into high school, the majority of people where super nice to me. All I could think was "why would I think high school would be so bad?" I know why, its because I watched the movies like Mean Girls, Clueless and The Duff which portrayed high school to be so much worse than what it seemed to be. They made it look like all that mattered was being pretty, rich and popular, but it really didn't matter. The movies you watch growing up affects how you think your life will turn out. Lets be honest we all want to meet our prince charming and live happily ever after, but its not that easy. Yes in high school you might hit those rough patches where there could be the occasional mean girl, or you could be called the "duff." But its how you handle it when you get to that patch or you get called that name. You can revolt by trying to act like them and end up losing yourself like Lindsey Lohan did in Mean Girls, or you can embrace it like Mae Whitman did in The Duff. Don't pull a Lindsey Lohan, be a Mae Whitman and don't let other people in high school define you. BE YOURSELF in high school! Don't let movies change your prospective on how high school is, because it really isn't that bad.

xoxo~ Tanty Girl
